An Ethereum casino in Canada looks, from the outside, exactly like a Bitcoin one: a cashier tab, a QR code, a long address. The difference shows up after you press send. Ether moves on a network with dozens of look-alike chains and thousands of tokens sharing the same address format, and that is where most failed ETH deposits come from. This page sticks to the mechanics of funding an account with ETH, then shows which brands in our listing actually accept it and what else their cashiers take.
What really happens when you deposit ETH
When you pick ETH in a casino cashier, the site shows you a deposit address that starts with 0x. That address is tied to your account. You send ether from your own wallet or from an exchange, the transaction gets included in a block, and the casino's system waits for a set number of confirmations before it credits your balance.
Three things decide whether this goes smoothly: which asset you send, which network you send it on, and how much you pay the network to process it. Get any one wrong and the money can sit somewhere the casino never looks.
Native ETH, ERC-20 tokens and the gas bill
Native ETH is the coin of the Ethereum network itself. ERC-20 tokens are different assets that live on top of it: USDT and USDC on Ethereum are the obvious examples. Both use the same kind of 0x address, which is exactly why people mix them up.
Some practical consequences:
- A casino that lists "ETH" and a casino that lists "USDT (ERC-20)" are offering two separate cashier options, often with two separate deposit addresses. Sending a token to the ETH address, or ether to a token address, may not be credited automatically.
- Every ERC-20 transfer is paid for in ETH. If your wallet holds 200 USDT and zero ether, the token transfer will not go through.
- Gas fees on Ethereum mainnet change with network traffic. A transfer that costs very little on a quiet Sunday morning can cost noticeably more during a busy hour. Your wallet shows the estimate before you confirm, so read it.
- Token transfers use more gas than a plain ETH transfer, so the fee for sending USDT on Ethereum is typically higher than for sending ether itself.
Our brand data records the withdrawal fee at each operator below as "network fee only". That describes the casino's side. On deposits, the gas you pay is between you and the network, and on a small deposit it can eat a visible share of the amount.
Layer 2 networks: same address, wrong place
This is the trap that catches experienced crypto users. Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, zkSync and similar layer 2 networks, plus separate chains such as BNB Smart Chain or Polygon, all use 0x addresses that look identical to an Ethereum mainnet address.
If the cashier says ETH on the Ethereum network and you withdraw from your exchange via Arbitrum, the transaction will succeed. The ether will land at that address on Arbitrum. The casino's deposit system, which only watches mainnet, will never see it.
Can it be recovered? Sometimes. If the casino's custody setup controls the same key on the other chain, support may be able to move it, usually manually and sometimes for a fee. If the deposit address is a contract or the operator simply does not support that chain, the funds are effectively gone. The cashier page is the only reliable source for which network a given coin uses, and when it does not name one, live chat can.
So the rule is short: match the network name in your exchange's withdrawal screen to the network name in the casino's cashier, letter for letter.
ETH vs BTC: how long until the balance shows up
Ethereum produces a block roughly every 12 seconds, against about 10 minutes for Bitcoin. In practice that means an ETH deposit usually reaches the casino's confirmation threshold faster than an on-chain BTC deposit, even when the casino asks for more confirmations on Ethereum than on Bitcoin.
Two caveats. First, the number of confirmations required is the operator's choice and is rarely published, so "faster" is a tendency, not a promise. Second, if you set a very low gas fee, your transaction can sit pending until traffic drops. Bitcoin's Lightning Network settles in seconds and beats both; of the ETH brands here, only BC.Game is reported to support it.
Withdrawals are another matter. The payout times in the table are operator claims or review findings, and they include the casino's own approval step, which has nothing to do with block times.
Which brands take ETH, and what else is in their cashier
All eight brands in the listing above have ETH in their published coin lists. The table covers six of them; data comes from our 2026-10-21 research, and wagering is shown with what it applies to.
| Brand | ETH | Other coins | Crypto payout | Wagering |
|---|
| Cloudbet | Yes | BTC, USDT, USDC, SOL, TRX, XRP, BNB, LTC, DOGE, ADA | Minutes to a few hours | None on the cash rewards |
| Stake | Yes | BTC, LTC, USDT, USDC, SOL, DOGE, BCH, XRP, TRX, BNB | Near-instant | 40x deposit + bonus |
| BC.Game | Yes | BTC (Lightning reported), USDT, USDC, LTC, DOGE, XRP, TRX, SOL, BNB | Minutes to a few hours | 40x bonus (varies by code) |
| BitStarz | Yes | BTC, LTC, BCH, DOGE, USDT | About 10 minutes (operator claim) | 40x bonus |
| 7Bit Casino | Yes | BTC, LTC, DOGE, BCH, BNB | Instant once approved | 35x bonus |
| mBit Casino | Yes | BTC, LTC, DOGE, BCH, USDT | Most under 10 minutes (review claim) | 40x bonus |
A few notes the table cannot carry. Cloudbet has the widest coin list and its welcome package, up to US$2,500 in rakeback and cash drops over 30 days, comes without wagering, though the offer varies by region. It is crypto-only, with fiat through a third-party on-ramp. Stake asks for level 2 ID before the first withdrawal, and its 200% match only exists through partner promo codes. BC.Game is the one to pick if you also want a Lightning option for BTC; reports on its KYC differ.
BitStarz and 7Bit both list Interac alongside crypto, which helps if you want to keep part of your bankroll in Canadian dollars. Their coin lists were not verified directly on the operator sites, so treat them as a guide. mBit's list is also partial according to our sources. Sportsbet.io and Bitcasino.io, both from the same operator, also accept ETH, but casino wagering on their offers was not found.
None of the eight accepts players from Ontario, and all list Alberta as closed.
Holding ETH while you play: the price question
Here is the part promotional pages skip. If your balance is held in ETH, it moves with the market while you sit at a table. A session that ends flat in ether can be up or down in dollars by the time you withdraw, and ether has historically swung more sharply than bitcoin over short periods.
Some casinos let you view your balance in a fiat currency while it is still held in crypto; others convert at deposit. Check which one you are dealing with before you deposit a large amount. If you want to remove the price swing entirely, a stablecoin such as USDT or USDC is the cleaner choice, and five of the six brands in the table take at least one.
Taxes are the other half. The CRA can treat disposing of crypto, including spending it at a casino or selling it after a withdrawal, as a taxable event that is separate from any gambling result. Keep your transaction records. This is general information, not tax advice.
Before you hit send
- Open the casino cashier and note the exact coin and network it names for ETH.
- Confirm the minimum deposit for that coin; deposits under the threshold may not be credited.
- In your exchange or wallet, choose the matching network, not the cheapest one offered.
- Keep some ETH for gas if you are sending an ERC-20 token.
- Send a small test amount the first time.
- Save the transaction hash in case you need support.
That test transfer costs one extra gas fee. It is cheap insurance against sending your whole deposit to a chain nobody is watching.
Questions players ask
Can I send ETH from Arbitrum or Base to a casino ETH address?
Only if the cashier names that network. Most casino ETH addresses are watched on Ethereum mainnet only. A transfer from Arbitrum, Base or another layer 2 will complete on that chain but will not be credited, and recovery depends on the operator's custody setup. Match the network name exactly and send a small test first.
Is an ETH casino faster than a Bitcoin casino?
Deposits usually are. Ethereum adds a block about every 12 seconds against roughly 10 minutes for Bitcoin, so the confirmation threshold is reached sooner. Withdrawals depend mostly on the casino's approval step. Bitcoin over Lightning settles in seconds, and BC.Game is the only brand here reported to support it.
Why did my USDT deposit on Ethereum fail?
Two common causes. Your wallet had no ether to pay gas, which every ERC-20 transfer needs, or you sent the token to the ETH deposit address instead of the separate USDT address the cashier provides. Check the cashier for a dedicated token option and keep a little ETH in the sending wallet.
Which of the best Ethereum gambling sites has no wagering?
In our data, Cloudbet's welcome package of up to US$2,500 in rakeback and cash drops over 30 days has no wagering, though the offer varies by region. Stake, BC.Game, BitStarz and mBit list 40x and 7Bit lists 35x. None of these brands accepts players from Ontario or Alberta.
